چکیده

Abstract Flower plantings can increase the abundance of bees and improve pollination services in surrounding landscape. However, uncertainty remains as to whether flower play a role wild bee conservation. The aim this study has been examine contribution composition management attraction bees, particularly endangered species. In large-scale monitoring project, data were collected on 60 120 semi-natural reference plots 20 sites over 2 years. total, we recorded 60,335 belonging 351 plantings, species richness intricately linked high plant constant blooming throughout season. first year study, complimentary phenology annual perennial plants resulted more bloom plantings. second year, partial mowing mid-season enhanced floral resources during late As result, increased from year. Nevertheless, compositional heterogeneity all Germany did not We conclude that diverse season is most important factor for promoting To ensure sufficient beta diversity large spatial scale, recommend adjustment seed mixtures according geographical region.

Native wildflower plantings support wild bee abundance and diversity in agricultural landscapes across the United States.

Global trends in pollinator-dependent crops have raised awareness of the need to support managed and wild bee populations to ensure sustainable crop production. Provision of sufficient forage resources is a key element for promoting bee populations within human impacted landscapes, particularly those in agricultural lands where demand for pollination service is high and land use and management ...

Flower resource and land management drives hoverfly communities and bee abundance in seminatural and agricultural grasslands

Pollination is a key ecosystem service, and appropriate management, particularly in agricultural systems, is essential to maintain a diversity of pollinator guilds. However, management recommendations frequently focus on maintaining plant communities, with the assumption that associated invertebrate populations will be sustained. We tested whether plant community, flower resources, and soil moi...

Scale dependent drivers of wild bee diversity in tropical heterogeneous agricultural landscapes

Factors associated with agricultural intensification, for example, loss of seminatural vegetation and pesticide use has been shown to adversely affect the bee community. These factors may impact the bee community differently at different landscape scales. The scale dependency is expected to be more pronounced in heterogeneous landscapes. However, the scale-dependent response of the bee communit...

Boundary-dominant flower blooming simulation

This paper presents a new simulation method for flower blossom, which is based on a biological observation that flower opening is caused by a boundary-dominant morphological transition in a curved lamina. We use an elastic triangular mesh to represent a flower petal and adopt the in-plane expansion to induce the global bending. Out-of-plane curl plays an auxiliary role in reducing the curvature...

Blooming Flower in Misty Left Atrium

Left atrial (LA) thrombus is known as a common complication of rheumatic mitral stenosis. It is more common in the presence of atrial fibrillation (AF). Incidence of LA clot formation in sinus rhythm is 2.4–13.5% and the incidence is as high as 33% in patients with mitral stenosis in AF. Because transthoracic echocardiography may not detect the left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombus, transesophag...
